Kerr Residence
Residential
Completed in 2010, this private residence in central Austin features many custom details. A metal-clad butterfly roof captures rain-water and solar power. A large cantilevered roof at the front of the home creates a dramatic front entry and sense of shelter. The house is composed in a “C” shape, with a large open floor plan for the public spaces, a private bedroom wing and a large screened-in porch. The carefully scaled shape of the home along with the natural materials complement the neighboring bungalow homes. The home fits into it’s location quietly and naturally, yet clearly embraces 21st century priorities.
