Fairfax Walk is a private residence in Austin, Texas near the University of Texas. A strong connection between inside/outside spaces is created by treating the main public space as a porch between the private front garden and a back garden nestled under a giant live-oak tree. The play of natural light is celebrated through carefully composed windows and apertures. Electric light in the landscape extends the perceived interior spaces into the gardens at night. Natural materials soften the contemporary forms; high-quality finishes and thoughtful details complete the design effort. This project was featured in Tribeza magazine and in the Austin American Statesman.
